Layout 010

I've realised that it's O.K. to make some of my layouts simple. I know I'll never be satisfied with only one patterned paper, but with a couple of papers, and a couple stamps, this layout is "simple". Lately, I've been so caught up in trying to create a masterpeice each time, that nothing ever gets done. But even worse, I stress out, and don't enjoy myself. I'm not putting pressure on myself to pump out a dozen layouts in one night, instead, I'll just enjoy the process and make at least one layout that I love.
I do love this layout (although it's flat....). I think I just like the pictures. And I never scrapbook my in-laws or Brian's family. So I feels good to have added a page with them into my book. Also, I am so nervous to scrapbook my weddding.... so all of these pictures leading up to our wedding might help to put me at ease when it comes to scrapbooking my pictures.

Layout 009

My first 12"x18" photo! And I like it. You have to have a good photo ( I think that this one is). I would say you need at least 8 megapixels to get your pictures this big and keep the quality. ( Deanna at Shoppers Drug Mart is the photo goddess and she'd be able to tell you for sure!). I scrapbooked the title (Lazy Boys) right onto the photo (yes, I was nervous at first).
All in all, I will do this again. . . The price is right (if you have a membership to our store the enlargement is only $2.02!) and it's a great way to fill 2 pages if you dont have a ton of photos or journaling. Plus some pictures are just so cute they deserve to be this big ( I am a little biased, but I do believe my cat is the coolest. Ever.)
Materials: Patterned Papers: My Minds Eye; Stickers: Making Memories; Metal Letters: Making Memories; Stamp: Autumn Leaves; Rub Ons: Basic Grey

Oops!

Would this be called "un"lucky bamboo?
Tragedy in my scrapbook room. . . . .
I cannot keep plants alive. And I worry that if it weren't for his constant meowing, my cat would have the same fate as this poor plant. My mom gave me this plant. And for the past two years, I have been able to nurse it back to health everytime I have almost killed it. Not this time.... As a result of direct sunlight, and good old neglect, it met it's maker.
I guess I am offically a "cactus kind of girl".

Goofy By Haley Ross
Someone requested I put this layout online. This layout if so easy to copy and can be used for any occasion where the story is as (or more) important as the picture. And, your handwritting is never as bad as you think it is. I detest my writting but people tell me all the time that they like it (so there you go...).
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Buttons: Autumn Leaves (best bag of buttons available!); Chipboard: Heidi Swapp; Stickers: Making Memories; Pen: Zig Writer

Layout 007

When I put things that I have kept from a vacation (brochure, map, tags, tickets) onto a page, I often find them very hard to work with. The biggest problem being: Most tags, tickets & maps... are not the most flattering colors, and often clash. So, when I thought of this page in my head, I was worried I might not be able to pull it off. But I love it. I think the simple white background helped. And, all the doodling was so much fun because I combined it with stamps, so it doesn't look to amateur. Plus: believe it or not, this page contains a whole heck of a lot of information.

Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Ink: Black StazOn; Pen: Black Zig Writer; Rub Ons: Making Memories; Stamp:Autumn Leaves, Lil Davis & Fontwerks (coming soon to our store!); Other: Rhinestones

More Cards?

I've been sick all week. Too sick to scrapbook. So when I sat down to do a layout yesterday, it was hard to get into it. I decided to take my own advice and make a card as a "warm up". Well, one turned into 2, and 2 turned into 17! I made 17 cards! Here's the trick: Keep them simple. (Chances are they are just going to get thrown away anyhow.) Needless to say, after 17 cards I was "warmed up" and ready to scrapbook.
