Layout 105

Christmas by Haley Ross
This is the epitome of a "non-layout". It's a 12x18 photo & a bunch of journaling. But scrapbooking comes in many different forms, and I had a lot to say, so I said it. And I loved this picture (I love all the pictures...).

Sometimes....

...things just work out.
My friend (and resident teacher/scrapbooker/photographer) Michelle Gier showed up at my house last Sunday with Starbucks in hand. (Yeah, I know, great friend). I had totally forgotten we were scheduled to go take some "belly" shots.
We went down to the Sheep River (my favourite place in town) and Michelle clicked away. My husband Brian was so uncomfortable it was almost hilarious. But as he loosened up, the shots got better and better. Michelle did a fabulous job. AND, she did all that without her camera (she used my unfamiliar camera and my brand new lens which I am in LOVE with).

This is one of my favourite shots. Makes me cry.

Thanks Michelle. Blessed am I to have a friend like you.

Thank you Lord, for not giving me stretch marks, yet.

My Town, Part 2

I am so excited for Part 2 of the My Town class tonight. My photos turned out great!

For those of you who missed out, you should be very jealous. In the first part of the class, we went to several locations around town & took pictures with Arlee Sebryk (our resident photographer!). We hit up the Sheep River, the old Post Office, the Ginger Tea House & a couple other great sites. And we hit the Jackpot when we heard a train coming over the bridge at our last location. Like a maniac, I ran all the way to the bridge (which turned out to be totally unnecessary and ruined a perfectly good pair of sneakers!). I'm so happy with the shots I will likely frame my fav. one for my home. In Part Two of the class, we will be making a double-paged layout with our pictures! Can't wait!

Thanks ladies! I had a great time (attending one of my own classes!) & the Starbucks Hot Chocolate was a perfect finish!

Layout 014

Fast & Fresh by Haley Ross
I just loved this picture I took of my cupcake sprinkles. The colors. The shapes and the potential for scrapbooking. It's simple becuase I wanted the picture to be the focus. I think I did well.
While most scrapbookers are taking a break from their scrapbooking and heading into their gardens, I am at my peak. When Spring turns to Summer, I start to feel so ALIVE that I just want to capture every moment. As a scrapbooker, I just love this Colorful time of year. Plus the natural lighting of sunny days is fabulous!
