I'm back! (For one day.)

I am excited to spend the entire day at my store tomorrow! But also nervous because my son will be there with me all day long. So if anyone would like to come and visit (it's been a long time since I have seen some of you!) I would LOVE the company.
I am planning on scrapbooking as much as possible (I'm taking some of my pre-planned pages with me). If you need a little creative escape, come join me, I'll have a spare table set up in the store (I'll be there until midnight as we have a private crop booked).

Oh no!

Summer is flying by! It's already mid-July, where has the time gone? While some of my friends are trying to entertain their school-aged kids, I am typing as fast as I can before my month old baby wakes up! But I know one thing, NOT very many people are scrapbooking.
___
So here's THE PLAN:
I KNOW I don't get much time to sit down and fire up the Cricut these days. And when a rainy day (like today) comes, I find myself unprepard to scrapbook. My new strategy for the summer is to pre-plan my pages. I took my photos to the store, picked out the matching papers, and filed them away (and maybe a couple embellishments) WITH the photos for that layout. When the rain comes, I'll be ready, and if the projects don't get finished (or even started!) until the fall....I'll be ready to go then. No guilt.
Thanks to Kim who inspired me to have all my "projects/layouts" pre-planned and ready to roll. I envy your organization.
This summer has created some great photos, & therefore great scrapbooking. Here are two of my fav's that will be first on the list "to be scrapbooked".
(Above: Canada Day at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks. A cold beer (finally!) and fireworks! Miles slept right through all the fireworks. Below: Our new hammock at the lake does the job!)

So many reasons...

...to scrapbook.
Having Miles has renewed my love of scrapbooking. Everything he does, there I am with a camera, ready to capture the moment. And then comes the scrapbooking! I am busy picking out paper to scrapbook his first bath, newest onesie and everything in between.

Hot.Hot.Hot.

You can always count on Heidi Swapp to come up with the newest, hottest scrapbook must-have. I love her felt flowers and butterflies. I also like how the colors of her embellishments match her papers so well. I have been using the papers like crazy, they are too cute. And so girly.

New Stuff.

The Bloom line from ki memories is here. In typical ki memories fashion, the colors are bright, bold and the patterns are clean & simple. I love the way all of the papers coordinate so easily. These will make for some great Summer themed layouts.

For those of you who have been giving me heck: I'll have you know, I ordered this before I knew Miles was a boy. I just loved it, and I guess it works out well that I had a baby boy. You'll love it too. The colors are beautiful. And of course, the embellishments (LOVE Fancy Pants ribbon) are totally cute. Must have.

Extra! Extra!

If you're headed to the cabin, or just to the beach for the day, pick up the July issue of Scrapbook Trends. Now available in-store. Lots of great ideas to "scraplift".
Little unknown fact: I LOVE this magazine for travelling, taking to the beach or in the hammock for one silly reason: It's size. Easy to hold, easy to turn the pages. All magazines should be this size. So smart!

New

Come choose from dozens of new May Arts ribbons.

Sold by the metre. Lots of great colors and styles (grosgrain, satin, sheer and more!)

Storage Solution: Small glass jars are a great way to store pieces of ribbon. And when they are full, they look FABulous (I bought a jar for each color and displayed them on a shelf in my scrapbook room, shown below). I bought these great glass jars at Ikea for just $2.99 each.

He rocks.
