Layout #227

Tiny by Haley Ross
Here's the story behind this layout: I struggled all morning putting together the previous layout. And before I know it, it was 3pm and time for my scrapbooking buddy to head home. Usually I pack up once she leaves, but this time I kept going. And I started this layout. This layout is a rip-off of the layout she did before she left. And I love it. And it only took me an hour. So, thanks Michelle, for leaving me with a little inspiration.

Layout #209

Riding Thomas by Haley Ross
I worked on this page forever. Not by choice. I was so excited when I decided to make my own train tracks... but once I started I realized that would mean setting about 40 brads. Blech. But sometimes an idea is worth the effort. I am happy with my little tracks! I am toying with the idea of adding another picture to the page (over the map we got that day) but I cant decide. It is a pretty cool map... I also love the ticket stickers, they've been in my stash forever & are finally being put to good use...
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: EK Success, Stampin' Up; Brads: Making Memories; Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories & Lil' Davis.

Layout #198

Wooms by Haley Ross
This is my favourite layout from yesterday. I love it. I think I just love how happy Miles was to have discovered the worms "Wooms". I was also pretty pumped to use up some old alphabet stickers & find this paper that went so well... This is the epitome of SIMPLE Scrapbooking. There is about $10 worth of supplies & it is so easy. I just want to mention one more time how much I love the BoBunny Flex ruler which I used to make the wavy lives. Love it.

Layout #184

Fruck by Haley Ross
This layouts was adapted from a Becky Fleck sketch. I love her. And some of her new sketches are featured in the current issue of 'Scrapbook & Cards Today' which is my favourite magazine & it's Canadian! Of course the layout looks nothing like the sketch (which had 5 mini photos) in the end, but I don't care where inspiration comes from, as long as it comes.
I got this paper from the Scrapbook Pantry a while ago, I love it. LOVE it.

Layout #139

...Without a fight by Haley Ross
(double-click to enlarge)
This is my favourite layout from the weekend. (There are 3 that I did that are so ugly I won't even post them). I love this paper. And I love the Big Bite that allowed me to punch a dotted circle in my photos (I also used a template from Crafters Workshop). If anyone knows where I can get more paper from this line, let me know. I got these two sheets but that's all Scrapbookers Paradise had. I'd love some more.

Layout #129

Little Engineer by Haley Ross

These are still old layouts that I have had done for a while. I am finally getting around to posting them... I guess that's what you do when you are too sore to do anything else...
I never thought in a million years I would be buying themed scrapbooking products. So tacky! Even my trip to Disneyland doesn't have a Mickey Mouse sticker on the layouts. But I am probably as addicted to Thomas the Tank Engine as my son is. I bought him the train table in November & at first I was a little regretful (it was pretty pricey) but I am amazed at how many hours Miles of entertainment he has gotten from it.

Layout 117

Fat Lip by Haley Ross
Isn't this paper adorable? Yeah, it is! I love it. And intent to use it over & over. And that's rare. So, here is another layout I have finally completed. I have a couple to post today, on my way to 150. I think I can. I think I can. I think I can.

Layout 099

Book Worm by Haley Ross
Lucky number 99. This is my favourite layout of the year.
I love this. I love the pictures. I love the paper. I love the journaling. I love my boys.
It just all came together. And I love it.
"He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it."
That is the quote on the left side of the page. Beautiful. It made me cry. I watch Miles copy his daddy and I fall in love. Everything Brian does, Miles does. And if Brian opens a book on the couch, Miles is right there with his. THIS is why I am having another baby. THIS is what I live for.
Materials: Patterned Paper: Fancy Pants Designs & My Minds Eye; Photo Flip Flap: Close To My Heart; Photo Turns: 7 Gypsies; Dustress Ink: Ranger.

Funny Face by Haley Ross
When I showed Brian the layouts I had done on the weekend this was his favourite. Really? I thought it was just...meh. But then I realised that Brian looks at the photos, and not the scrapbooking. And I get it now. This layout didn't photograph very well, sorry, the transparency lifted. But I like the journaling. And I love the paper line. It's so cute & had adorable little die-cuts & titles to match. You will be seeing more of it, trust me.
Materials: Patterned Paper: K&Co.; Chipboard Die-Cuts: K&Co.; Number Stickers: American Crafts; Chipboard Alphabet: Heidi Swapp; Eyelets: We R Memory Keepers.

Cool Guy by Haley Ross
Um. Adorable photo, non? And the sticker I found was priceless. So happy with this layout. So very happy.

Newsboy Cap by Haley Ross
I actually did this layout a while ago. But I just finished the journaling. That's one thing I like about Bloomin' Inn.. they have computers, so I always finish my journaling. I still have pages from our last retreat piled up waiting to be journaled.
Materials: Patterned Paper: Basic Grey & My Little Yellow Bicycle; Stickers: making memories; Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Stamps: Heidi Swapp; Cricut Cartridge: Opposites Attract; Other: Button.

Layout 085

Family Matters by Haley Ross
I am in love with Jenni Bowlin. Sometimes a line comes out & you feel as though you could use it on everything. I feel this way about Jenni Bowlin. It's like she's making her stuff with em in mind. There is always a little something so that you can include journaling (journaling spots, memo note pads, lined paper) which I love. And I love using Red, White & Blue in a non-American way (it's harder than you think). I love this picture of Brian & Miles. My boys. I love 'em. I also love love love the chipboard buttons (I popped mine up for some dimension) and I can honestly say that the School themed alphabet stickers are one of my new favorite things. I've used them at least, at least, half a dozen times already.
Materials: Cardstock: Coredinations; Patterned Paper: Jenni Bowlin: Chipboard buttons, Journaling Spot & Alphabet Stickers: Jenni Bowlin; Chipboard Letters: Lil' Davis; Ribbon: May Arts; Pen: Zig Writer by EK Success.

Cute Stuff!

People with boys (and girls too) are always asking me for "train stuff". So when I saw this cute line from Reminisce, I had to order it. And it's here now, and too cute. I am wishing I would have taken pictures of Miles when we were at my friend Tara's house. Miles pulled every train and rail off of Jack's (Tara's son) Thomas The Tank Engine table. Jack was so terrified of my little wrecking ball that he crouched, frozen with horror, peaking out from behind the couch. Funniest reaction I have every seen a kid have!

This just in...

Cute new company Bella Blvd. had some paper that was so adorable I couldn't say no. Three new lines just arrived today, say hello to Super Stud (their cute robot print is pictured above), Plastino (below) & Camped Out (um, love it!) (Bottom).

If you need a paper-fix or are looking for some retail therapy, this is my #1 recommendation (well, for now).

Layout #080

Sand Box by Haley Ross
Something horrible happened with my little point & shoot camera when I was taking these pictures... Miles' shirt is so bright. I might go back & try to fix that. I used some really old embellishments on this page, happy about that! There's a spelling mistake in my journaling that is killing me. Do you go back & tear things apart if there is spelling mistakes?
