For the Mom's

I love that most of the kids have just a little bit paint somewhere on their face. A sign of a true crafter!

A Full Workshop...

Full of crafty kids! Our Kids Valentines Day class was today at 1pm. The kids made 25 valentines is just over an hour! Good job guys!

There were some suprisingly focused kids who wanted to make sure they had some "quality goods" to pass out to tehir classmates.

Of course, nothing fuels the creative mind like a cookies, chocolate kisses & juice...

Jealous.

Jealous. I am jealous of Susan. So jealous. She is too talented. No one needs that much talent. The only way to fix this problem? Take her class and rub up against her to try to gain talent through osmosis. I plan on it. You can too (take her class, not rub up against her...). February 18th. About $18 (all supplies included.)

Love the little rag & button closure. Love the colors. Love it.

10 Randoms....2 days late.

As per my agreement with Mrs.Collis, here are my "10 randoms" for the week

(Jesse, yes you Jesse Stein, I hope you are doing these too!)

My Top 10 Comfort Items

1. Food. Cheese mainly. The best? Brie. With Jelly.

2. Archie Comics. (Easy to read, no brain-power required. Make me smile.)

3. Thick socks. I bought the best Burton pair for skiing this weekend. So thick. So fabulous. Kept my toesies so warm.

4. Miles Davis. Or Dexter Gordon. Any Jazz music really.

5. A hot water bottle. I get such cold feet (see #3)

6. Red Wine. A nice Pinot Nior.

7. Brian.

8. 7pm. Miles' bedtime. Sometimes just thinking about 7pm comforts me.

9. Tall, Soy, No Water, Tazo Chai Latter from Starbucks.

10. My scrapbooks. The finished ones. It's nice to see my memories & my accomplishments all in one nice bundle.

Is this legal?

Dinner for tomorrow night.
I took this picture from the website. And here is the recipe.
Macaroni & Cheese with Cauliflower
45 minutes. Serves 6.
12 ounces multigrain elbow macaroni
1 head cauliflower
4 slices mulitgrain bread
1/2 fresh parsley, chopped
3 tables spoons olive oil
Salt & Pepper
1 onion. Finely chopped
1.5 cups of sharp cheddar
1.5 cups low fat sour cream
1/2 cup milk (I used skim, worked fine)
1 tbsp. dijon mustard
Notes: Cooking with Sharp Cheddar lets you use less cheese without giving up flavour. Cauliflower adds Vitamin C & fiber.
1. Heat oven to 400F. Cook pasta according to directions, adding cauliflower during last 3 minutes. Drain.
2. Pulse bread in food processor until coarse crumbs form. Add parsley, 2 tbsp of Olive Oil, 1/4 tsp of each salt & pepper. Combine set aside.
3. In seperate pot add remaining tbsp. of Oil, and rest of salt & pepper. Cook onions until tender (5 to 7 minutes on medium heat). Mix in pasta, cauliflower, sour cream, milk & mustard.
4. Transfer to shallow baking dish & sprinkle bread crumbs. Bake until gold brown, 12 to 15 minutes.
Easy peasy lemon-squeezy.
( We like spicier food. We though next time we'd add chili pepper flakes or at least more pepper).

Comforting....

The last 2 days have been trying. Really, really trying. If bad things come in 3's, then I am expecting one more before I am at 9. Seriously, trying.
I decided to cook my stress away. And it worked. For dinner tonight I am making my family the cover recipe from REAL SIMPLE magazine this month. Comfort food. Macaroni & Cheese.
(I thought my parsley looked so pretty I had to take a picture)
Miles is just sitting in highchair playing with my whisk and Jack Johnson is singing me though this simple meal. It's in the oven now, and I had a little taste before it went in. Let me just say....yum. I can't wait until Brian gets home.

Love Love Love Kaiser Craft

I've posted the "boyish" lines from Kaiser Craft (because now I really know how much harder it is to find good boys stuff) but there's also some really cute girls, cat & dog papers in store (And matching brads!). It all matches and it's double-sided. Love it.

More New Stuff...

I love love love Fancy Pants. Love them. So this new line Artic Chill is right up my alley. I love it. And the new Bo Bunny line just screams "Viola!" to me, and I can't wait to see what she does with it.

New Goodies!

The Love Letters line from My Little Yellow Bicycle has arrived. There's lots of great embellishments to go with this cute paper.

I am loving to scrapbook little Hannah. I love it. Finally a chance to use some of this cute girly stuff. Stuff that I bought thinking I would do pages of myslelf and just never did. This page is a little flat for me, but I like the paper and wanted to be able to use it all (double-sided!).
Old Stock? All of it. Every little bit. Woo hoo!
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: ki Memories; Embellishments & Ribbon: ki Memories; Pen: EK Success Zig Writer; Pop Dots: 3L; Computer Font: Odd Ball by Creating Keepsakes; Cricut Font: All Mixed Up

My Baby...

... Has a scratch on his face. And it's making me feel so bad. I've been meaning to cut his nails all week. And this morning, I go to get him from his crib & he has a scratch on his nose. He was just smiling away. I feel so bad. I feel so so bad.

10 Randoms (a Day Late)

For those of you that don't follow Kim's Blog (we're kind of blogging buddies) we have a new assignment that started with Facebook.... The original assignment was to state 25 random facts about yourself. Well, we did it and it was pretty fun. It's amazing to see what weird things you might have in common with someone. So we're doing to start doing it weekly. 10 Random things, every Sunday.
Now I know that it's Monday, so already I am behind. But I am going to plead "Baby Insanity" as my defense. Yesterday was possibly one of the worst days of my life. Miles is teething. And that's all I feel like saying about it.
So here's the list. This week, I follow in Kim's blog-steps...
10 Things I could not Scrapbook Without
1. My Cricut. There. I said it. Now it's out of the way.
2. Different colored Zig Writers.
3. Good lighting. Hate hate hate scrapbooking in bad lighting.
4. My Creative Memories Circle Cutting system.
5. Brian. Who allows me (sometimes forces me) to make time for what I love.
6. C-thru clear centering ruler.
7. Basic Grey. Still my favourite after all this time.
8. Nibs. aka. engery.
9. Stapler. I use colored staples a lot.
10. Kim. Who keeps me motivated & inspired. Tara. Michelle & Arlee. Jesse. My staff. JoAnn (although she seems to be MIA lately....) and other scrapbookers that I can always count on for a good time.
