Layout #230

Thankful for... by Haley Ross
I know that there's really nothing special to this layout (or any of my layouts really) to you. But to me, there's usually something I like enough to warrant keeping it in my album. I love the journaling on this page. I would have never thought to write down the conversation (argument?) that took place has it not been for my friends who laughed when they saw these pictures. I am glad I took their advice. I love this boring layout because I did.
Materials: Patterned Paper: K&Co, Making Memories, Paper Loft & Reminisce; Stickers: K&Co & Reminisce; RubOn: My Minds Eye; Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories; Pen: EK Success Zig Writer.

Layout #229

My Baby by Haley Ross
I love Amy Butler. So of course I have hoarded her paper for years, waiting to have a need for it. And now I do, Molly.
Materials: Patterned Paper: K&Co and Theresa Collins; Cardstock: Worldwin; Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories and My Minds Eye; Flower Die-Cut: Tim Holtz; Ribbon: May Arts; Other: Brad & Button.

Layout #228

Popular Guy by Haley Ross
I started scrapbooking in 2002. Rub-ons hadn't hit the scene. In 2003 I went to Australia for a year & when I got back I was so excited to scrapbook the 900 pictures I took on my trip. While I was gone 2 things happened that changed scrapbooking, in a big way. 1. All the new cameras in the stores were digital. I had taken the last film camera I will probably ever own to Australia. 2. Rub-Ons happened. And the first ones I ever bought were at scrapbookers paradise in the 50% section (At the time, they were regular $12 and I bought two packs, which was a big splurge for me back then,). Why am I telling you this? Because those exact rub-ons are on this layout. I never opened the packs I bought. They are a weird color & I think I only bought them because they were on sale. If you had told me then I would use them 7 years later on a layout about my first child, I would have laughed. Back then I used everything I bought right away & I had no 'stash'. I guess that was the beginning. The beginning of my 'stash' that I still dip into, 7 years later.
Materials: Cardstock: Worldwin; Patterned Paper & Sticker: K&Co; Rub-Ons; Creative Imaginations.

Layout #220

Rocks by Haley Ross
I loooove how this turned out. By not using any blue in the layout, Miles shirt steals the show. I love it. I am going to freehand journal on the white paper, but I just can't. Yet. Too nervous.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Crate Paper; Chipboard Characters: K&Co.; Notions: Jolee's By You; Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories; Laser Cut Mini Paper: My Little Yellow Bicycle.

Layout #169

Love You 4 Ever by Haley Ross
I have been dying (dying) to use this line since it was released, oh, 4 years ago. It's by Brenda Walton for K&Co. and I just love it. So I stashed it away for years, hoping someday I would have a reason to use it. Molly is that reason. Isn't it beautiful? I got the layout idea from Scrapbooks Etc. but I changed it up & I am so happy with it. Simple & Elegant.

Materials: Patterned Paper: Scenic Route & K&Co.; Stickers, Grand Adhesions & Chipboard: K&Co.; Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Pen: EK Success Zig Writer.

Layout #147

Trick Or Treat by Haley Ross
I love this layout. I think I just love all things Halloween. I love Halloween. Love it. And because I love it, it's easy for me to want to use up all of these great products. I love these Grand Adhesions (3D stickers) from K&Co. So cute! I'd have a hard time using them normally, but I just loved them so much (that cat on the coffin is adorable). The transparency is lifting a bit but it will flatten out in the protector. I love it. Love it! Even though I used a LOT of product.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: K&Co; Glow in the dark Brads: Karen Foster; Themed Stickers: K&Co.; Journaling Spot: Jillibean Soup; Swirl Transfers: Scrapworks; Gel Pen: Sakura; Pen: Zig Writer by EK Success; Flip Flaps: Close To My Heart.

Layout 094

Funny Face by Haley Ross
When I showed Brian the layouts I had done on the weekend this was his favourite. Really? I thought it was just...meh. But then I realised that Brian looks at the photos, and not the scrapbooking. And I get it now. This layout didn't photograph very well, sorry, the transparency lifted. But I like the journaling. And I love the paper line. It's so cute & had adorable little die-cuts & titles to match. You will be seeing more of it, trust me.
Materials: Patterned Paper: K&Co.; Chipboard Die-Cuts: K&Co.; Number Stickers: American Crafts; Chipboard Alphabet: Heidi Swapp; Eyelets: We R Memory Keepers.

Layout #081, 082 & 083

(double-click on any layout to enlarge)
First Dip by Haley Ross
My layouts all look the same. Which I am actually okay with, I've found my "groove". But when you are just using the same layout over & over you can't expect to be thrilled with the results. Except that this time I was... I really like this page. I was so sad that the pictures weren't great (the quality is bad) and that because of the weather, everything was so gray. Ugh. Except that I found this gorgeous gray paper, and then everything turned out. There was a little distressing emergency when I tried to distress the chipboard that was already attached (doesn't look very good). Lesson learned: Un-Du was invented for a reason. Don't be lazy.
The rub-ons that I used are ancient. Like, 6 years old. There was other old stuff on the layout too.
Materials: Patterned Paper & Die-cuts: My Minds Eye; Rub-Ons: making memories; Chipboard letters: Pressed Petals; Metal embellishment: making memories; Ghost heart: Heidi Swapp; Other: Staples, Medical Gauze & Transparency.
Happy by Haley Ross
L.o.v.e Miles' big grin in this picture. So I had to blow it up... big. There are some fabric patches sewn onto this page that are pretty old. And for once I used the cricut instead of relying on Thickers (love!).
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: My Minds Eye; Fabric Patches: EK Success

Shine by Haley Ross
I love this paper line. It's not new, but I love it. And I am starting to run out (uh-oh). It's called Wild Saffron & it seems to be perfect for everything I every sit down to scrapbook. Love it.
Materials: Patterned Paper & Chipboard Stickers: K&Co.; Calendar Die-cut; Jenni Bowlin; Chipboard Alphabet: Thickers by American Crafts; Paint: making memories; Fuzzy Brads: Doodlebug Designs; Pen: Zig Writer by EK Success

Only 67 more to go before 2010 to reach my goal!

Layout #078 & #079

I've been making some real progress on my Christmas albums. I have two. One is where I stash all of the Christmas layout from the past, oh, 5 years (it's almost full) and the other is for Miles' first Christmas (I took that many pictures). I am almost caught up on both of them. I actually like scrapbooking Christmas. You rarely have to match up colors (Hmmm... Green & Red? Sure.) and the embellishments are all so sparkly and cute. I 'll post more (I lent my book out..) soon, but here are a couple I liked...

So Merry by Haley Ross
This is actually scraplifted. I took an 8.5x11 layout and turned it into a 2 page layout... and it worked! (Ok, it looks NOTHING like the original, but sometimes I need a starting point...).
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee; Stickers: October Afternoon; Alphabet Stickers: American Crafts; Other: Ribbon off of a gift I recieved.

jump! by Haley Ross
This picture is crooked. I really need to get my camera back from the shop. Anyway, I love these pictures so much that I think I could have put ugly kitten stickers all over the page & I would still be happy with it.... well, maybe.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: K&Co.; Brads: Doodlebug; Alphabet Stickers: American Crafts; Die Cut: K&Co.; Ribbon: May Arts; Other: Transparency.

Layout 069

First Halloween by Haley Ross
I guess I shouldn't be posting this layout because I still have journaling to do. Sorry about the picture (you can see my shadow). I have been wanting to use this spider transparency for a while now, it looks so cool.
Old Stock? All of it. Yay me!
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: K&Co.; Transparency: Hambly; Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories; Brads: Karen Foster; Tab Punch: Stampin' Up; Pen: Vellum Writer by EK Success.

Layout 026

Friend by Haley Ross

This picture is pretty dark. Sorry. I am still getting the hang of my new camera lens.
I totally got some serious scrapbooking under my belt this weekend (a little on Friday & a lot on Saturday!). It felt good. I feel like I am making progress.
More American Crafts Thickers (sick of them yet? I'm not!) and making memories Tiny Alphabet (Like I said, BEST value). The main background paper is the new K&Co. Urban Rhapsody. So hot. I love it. And if you've run out of lined paper from Scenic Route it is back in stock (for the time being....) I love that stuff. Can't get enough. Perfect for me, because I love to journal. I even did a little stamping on this layout...
Which supplies did I get from my stash (As per my 2008 Scrapbook Goal)? The canvas tab (been in there forever), flowers, brads & brown ribbon. Woohoo!

Materials: Patterned Paper: K&Co., Anna Griffin, My Minds Eye, Scenic Route; Alphabet Stickers: American Crafts & making memories; Ribbon: May Arts & making memories; Flowers: Prima; Brads: making memories & Basic Grey; Stamp: Paper Inspirations; Ink: Ancient Page; Canvas Tab: Scrapworks; Pen: EK Success Zig Writer

Instead, I will spend the day unpacking the boxes I have sitting here. Don't forget to come stock up on older items and recieve 25% off your entire purchase* until the 8th.

Sweet.....

The new Small Wonders Collection from K&Co. has started to arrive. For busy moms or new scrapbookers, the pre-designed pages are pretty cute (An old concept with a new twist!). Love the albums (see above). Cute enough to give me baby fever. We also have the Grand Adhesions, Glitter Stickers & Chipboard in stock now. Now I just need to root though my mothers photo albums to find the perfect baby photo.....
