Update...

The Okotoks Scrapbook Convention was a complete success. Complete. Lisa Slocombe (& her volunteers) did a fabulous job & I think we all owe her a big round of applause (insert clapping here). We had a great time doing make & takes, eating Crave cupcakes and of course, bidding on silent auction items. (Other people may also have scrapbooked....) Brian went home with a round of Golf and this is an official public apology to anyone who was also bidding on that item. He is very competitive when he is bored. And I won a beautiful ring hand-made by a friend as well as a sweet little green afghan. Lucky me.
Yep. $12,534.50 big ones. All of that goes to the Rowan House Emergency Shelter. Every cent. And that my friends, is a warm fuzzy.

Mission Accomplished.

Yesterday was the first (annual?) Okotoks Scrapbook Convention. What a success! Everyone that I spoke with had loads of fun & some even got some actual scrapbooking done!
The croppers (seen below at the Foothills Centennial Center) went all day, scrapbooking, entering contests, winning prizes (there were loads!), snacking (fabulous meals were provided) and shopping. Brian and I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to put on this fabulous shindig (Lisa Slocombe & her crew).

Along with great classes by Alison Orthner, Rebbecca Cooper, Heather Moll & others, there were Make&Takes galore. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth and kept Viola & Jesse busy all day long (thanks chicks!). It was great to get a chance to talk with all of the local (and visiting) scrapbookers. I spoke with gals from as far away as Regina & Utah who were having a great time.

The hottest items of the day? Making Memories Easter Brads, American Crafts Thickers, Reminisce Spring Paper, Real.Life.Scrapbook. by Rebbecca Cooper (she's totally sweet!), Prima Minnies & of course, Basic Grey. Thanks to all the croppers who shopped with us that day. I wish I had more time to talk to everyone who came through.
Check out the Western Wheel this week to see just how much money we raised for the Rowan House Emergency Shelter.
Lastly, Big thanks to Michelle & Dale Gier (for their muscle), & my husband Brian who sported a pink flower name tag all day (looks impressed, non?). Love you babe. I really do.
