Layout #243

Egg Hunt by Haley Ross
I haven't been scrapbooking much. I've only done 3 layouts in the past two weeks....better than nothing. My Easter pictures were all over exposed this year....they look terrible. I had been messing around with my camera and when Brian took all the pictures it was still on the settings I had been playing with. It's hard to scrapbook bad pictures.

Layout #223

27 by Haley Ross
It's been a while since I have been able to put together a succesful layout. I've lost my 'scrapbook mojo'. But I am happy with this. (The layout is blurry. I can't wait to get a new camera....) I love this layout because it really represents the casual approach we have decided to take towards family birthdays & other occasions. We have decided that we don't need parties to have fun. And that just spending time with each other will be a great way to celebrate. For Brian's 27th birthday we found a great park, packed a picnic & bought a mini carrot cake with sparklers. It was a perfect afternoon. Miles had such a great time. That being said, Molly turned one this week & we had a little bash... I was told that not having a first birthday party is against the law ;)

Layout #220

Rocks by Haley Ross
I loooove how this turned out. By not using any blue in the layout, Miles shirt steals the show. I love it. I am going to freehand journal on the white paper, but I just can't. Yet. Too nervous.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Crate Paper; Chipboard Characters: K&Co.; Notions: Jolee's By You; Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories; Laser Cut Mini Paper: My Little Yellow Bicycle.

Simpleton.

I am simple.
I like to think simple, and not lazy. I like to think that this invitation (to Molly's 1st Birthday Tea) is 'Understated' and not 'Under-achieved'. Hmmmm.
It's beautiful though isn't it. One piece of cardstock. Turn it through the Big Shot, back through the Cuttlebug (I am told one machine could do both, but I just can't figure out how & I've since tossed the manual). Cricut up some little green M's. Spot of glue. Done.
I used mostly odd balls pieces of cardstock (and one borrowed, Thanks Tracey!), none of my whites match.... & about one hours time.
And now, because these are done, I have more time to read, clean my kitchen and ... prepare for the Tea-less Tea Party ;)

Layout #125

First Play in the Spray by Haley Ross
Can you believe I forgot my camera on our first ever trip to the spray park? Luckily, Kacey had just gotten hers and was a little trigger happy. I have some great pictures from that day (Thanks Kacey!)
I was really pumped that I was able to use this colorful paper & grey cardstock together... it was no easy feat, but I think it turned out well. I am 99% sure that picking the right paper is key to being happy with your pages. After that, especially when you're a simple scrapbooker (like me), it's just a matter of slappin' on the pictures. Anyone can scrapbook.
