Layout 271

I paint objects as I think them, not as I see them.
- Pablo Picasso
It was beginning to look like The Molly Show yesterday for a while... little girls are so easy to scrapbook. But these pictures from Miles' first day of school were so full of color I couldn't wait to have a go at them. And when he gets home from school today he's going to be so excited to see this page (he loooves when he is on a layout).
Also, can't help but note I am at layout 271 as of today. I remember thinking it was impossible that I would reach 300 layouts by the end of the year but now I think it might just be attainable. The last half of the year is always so much more productive... We'll see...

Layout #261

RoadTrip
I have become my own worst nightmare... a scrapbooker that needs a crutch. What I mean is, I seem to be unable to scrapbook without the help of the person sitting next to me. And I should know better (nothing annoys me more than when I get nothing done because I spend all my time looking at someone elses projects). But knowing I was being bad didn't stop me from asking my neighbour to cull my photos (which she is great at), borrow paper & Thickers (which she did so graciously) AND THEN help me with my layout (the 4 photos on the right were her idea). So thanks neighbor...for being my crutch when I was feeling uninspired... I won't happen again (I am 33% confident).

Layout #257

Get In Gear by Haley Ross
I have to laugh at the extent I will go to sometimes... I could have just bought striped paper rather than cutting up all these strips. Anyway, it turned out, Christmas paper & all (as Jen so sweetly informed me, I was using two different lines..)
Materials: Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories; Gears: Tim Holtz; Charm: Pebbles Inc; Cardstock: Basil Basics.

Layout #244

Spring
Um, I love Mollys beautiful little Easter Dress (My mom picked it up in the States). It was something different than the usual spring colors but it suited her. She was just a tiny little baby last Easter and she was drowning in her 0-3 mos. dress. I got to use a flourish from my new Cricut cartridge (I now own eight!) Straight From The Nest. I bought it & Create a Critter on my trip to Washington for just $35!
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Stickers: Making Memories; Flower: Pink Paislee; Flair: American Crafts; Flourish: Cricut.

Layout #197

Hopaluks by Haley Ross
I can't believe this is layout #197. Insane. I might even meet my goal for the year (which would mean I have posted 250 layouts)! Having lowered expectations is fabulous for your ego! Only 53 more to go.... we'll see...
Materials: Patterned Paper, Stickers & Canvas Tags: Basic Grey; Brads: K&Co.; Rub-Ons: October Afternoon

Layout #189

E is for Elephant by Haley Ross
So I finally used this black grid stuff I bought years ago. It is so cool, but I could just never use it properly. I have a big pile of stuff like that, weird textured papers & pieces. I have some cool fabric sheets, cork, metal, even a couple ceiling tiles, but I never seem to use them. I guess they really just aren't my 'simple style'.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Journaling spot & Paper Stars: Basic Grey; Alphabet Stickers: Basic Grey, American Crafts Thickers and Making Memories; Transparecny: Hambly Studios; Other: Wire Mesh Sheet.

TROUBLE by Haley Ross
I still have to journal on this layout. I crack up when I look at Miles' pouty face, he just kills me. I was so grateful to have my camera handy.
Materials: Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Rub-Ons & Metal Plaque: My Minds Eye; Other: Ribbon & Overall Clips from sewing store.

Layout #180

B is For Baby by Haley Ross
If anything, I am just so happy to have used that little red metal heart frame. It was from Lil' Davis & it's like, 7 years old. Kim hated it. She said it was ugly & that I shouldn't use it. Well, I like it.
Materials: Patterned Paper: Basic Grey & October Afternoon; Metal Clips & Stickers: 7 Gypsies; Ticket: Tim Holtz; Metal Plate: Lil' Davis; Tag: My Minds Eye; Cardstock: Coredinations; Other: Brads & Journaling Spot.

Full of Beans by Haley Ross
(inspired by.... ok, knocked off from Michelle Gier)
I used an actual bean tin label and I think it looks super cute. I am also so excited to finally use this old Basic Grey paper, it's cute huh?
Materials: Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Journaling Spots: Jillibean Soup; Alphabet Stickers: Doodlebug Designs; Epoxy tag: Making Memories; Pen: Zig Writer by EK Success.

Layout #166

Kiss by Haley Ross
More of the beautiful pictures Michelle Gier took for me when Molly was born. I feel so blessed to have them. I used some old Basic Grey paper on this layout, I've actually been using up a lot of old stuff lately. With the exception of the cardstock pad the other day, I haven't really been adding to my 'stash'. And because I have been scrapbooking a bunch, it feels like my supplies are starting to thin out (!). I can only hope... for now, it just feels good to be adding to my albums, no matter how simple or old the layouts are.

Materials: Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Frame & Transparency Piece: My Minds Eye; Flowers: Prima; Ribbon: Unknown; Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories; Button: American Crafts.

Layout #155

A Place To Grow by Haley Ross
(made in a class with Susan Tutt at Scrapbookers Bliss).

I'd like to apologize to Susan for butchering her beautiful layout. I took her class at Scrapbookers Bliss a couple weeks ago & made the middle part of this layout. But, because I am anal, I had to turn it into a double-page layout. (It looked much better in my head). I love the tree. What a cute idea! That Susan is too talented! (She is one of my favourite local scrapbookers). Check out her classes at Scrapbookers Bliss in Calgary. You won't be sorry (and you might see me there!).

Gone Truckin' by Haley Ross
I cut a huge star out of a piece of patterned paper so it would coordinate with another unrelated paper. So happy with the results. I love Cricut.

A New Vue by Haley Ross
I remember when there was only Brian, Koho (our cat) and I to scrapbook about. And now it seems I really only scrapbook Miles. So doing these pictures of myself was a little weird. Also weird? Using this license plate sticker I bought about 7 years ago. It managed to survive every purge since then and I'm glad it did. It worked well.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Sticker: Sticker Studio; Chipboard Alphabet Stickers: American Crafts; Flip Flaps: Close To My Heart

Tried, Tested & True by Haley Ross
I can't even begin to tell you that this was the best $8 that I ever spent. Miles has gotten hours of entertainment out of this toy. And it was special because Brian & I had this when we were little too. I thought this paper couldn't be more perfect.
Materials: Cardstock: Worldwin; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Rub-Ons: Making Memories; Alphabet Stickers: Making Memories & Thickers by American Crafts; Other: Photo Flip Flap from Close To My Heart.
