Oh Heidi!
I use to dislike Heidi Swapp. I did, because her products were always a little bit tricky to use, and the average scrapbooker just didn't buy them. But she's a smart cookie! Her products are so trendy that you just WANT them. Check out these metallic crown rub-ons. Love.
But...my favourite prodcut of the moment is this variety pack of mini ghost shapes (pictured below). I don't think it gets much better than these. So cute, so easy to use (staple them, paint them, stitch them on....) and you get a little of everything (I love the hearts!). Tell your hubby to RUN to the store to pick these up (and stash them in your stocking), I gaurantee they are going to fly out the door...
Please stop....
I don't even want to THINK about St.Valentines day..... well, this stuff is pretty cute! Amazing how much in advance we retailers must think, the Valentines stuff is arriving already! Ok, so you're in the Christmas Spirit (so am I) but this stuff is so cute. I mean, really cute, I love it. Put it on your wishlist & you'll be ahead of the game.
I have to have this.....
.... under my tree! ( Note to Brian!) It spins so that I can get at my tools from all sides and it's cute! mm does it again. I just love them.

Cute!
New
Pure Genius!
Before you go putting together your calendar scrapbooks this year (a popular Chirstmas gift!), consider this....... Heidi Swapp makes a calendar that has page protectors that you can insert your finished layouts into. At the end of the year, instead of throwing the calendar away, it turns into a scrapbook by simply rotating the pages. Brilliant! Another option: Next year when mom-in-law asks for another calendar (and she will!) you can just give her inserts to refill this strudy book. It also comes with number stickers for each month.....
I made a calendar for my mother-in-law about 4 years ago. It was a lot of work. I swore I would never do it again becuase who knows where it ended up. But this year, a I am giving her a Heidi Swapp Calendar full of family photos.... knowing that next year, with a new baby, I will likely be making another set of layouts (and saving money on the book!)!

Extra!Extra!
The New issue of Canadian Scrapbooker is on stands (or the on counter.....).
I think this is the best issue ever. I really do. I loved the cover (great layout) and the inside just got better. It's also nice to see layouts from some of the scrapbookers I see in our store (Check out Lynn Thune's layout on page 71, beautiful). How nice to see that a local magazine is kicking some butt. If you only buy one magazine a month (there are so many to choose from) give this one a try.
Bonus: Supporting a Canadian company will only make our dollar stronger!
(It was nice to see the cover price as: $11.99 CDN/US).

...from s.e.i. is the Holly Lane collection. Beautiful foiled papers, velvet papers, die-cuts, stickers, ribbons, buttons (yay!) and embellishments are now available in-store.
If you haven't done your Christmas cards, the deadline is looming (December 1st, but it's pretty much an "unwritten rule".) We still have one more card class available (Nov.28th) or come and get creative with this new Christmas line.

Layout 017
When I found out I was pregnant I started to keep a journal. The reason for this page is because I LOVE re-reading the first couple entries. This one is my favorite. It is ALL over the place. And I start off by saying how much more focused I am! Love it. Sometimes I forget that I can do pages like this and use pictures that I have laying around. Brian took these pictures of me that week. ( He's getting pretty good eh?). I was surprised when I downloaded my card and saw them.
Materials: Paper: Scenic Route, My Minds Eye, K&Co.; Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Buttons: My Minds Eye; Die Cuts: Cricut font Plantin; Pen: Ek Success; Punch: Stampin' Up
Layout 016
Now that it is public knowledge that I am expecting a baby, I can finally post some of the layouts I have been working on. Love this layout, not because it is fabulous, but because I love the writing. The paper & embellishments are from the making memories Funky Vintage line. At first glance this line looks a little too difficult to use, but when you get down to it, it all works really well together. And the colors are fabulous. I am also becoming a HUGE fan of their ribbon by the meter (great quality).
Materials: Patterned Paper: Elsie for KI Memories, making memories; Ribbon, Flower, Epoxy Buttons & Photo Corner: making memories; Staples: EK Success; Decorative Snap: We R Memory Keepers; Pen: EK Success

I've been Scrapbooking!
I realized that the Hambly products that I posted online DID NOT do them any justice. This stuff is fabulous! So I'm posting the mini album I made yesterday (a gift to my girlfriend Jules) on here to show you just how wonderful these papers/acetates/rub ons are.
The cover and every second page are made with the Clearly Heavy Overlays. Love them. Sturdy & crystal clear. There are some complimenting acetates mixed in there (I was instantly in love with the chandeliers the minute I saw them!)
I thought it might be a little hard working with exposed backgrounds (I am a little picky) but it wasn't at all. The key is having great "croppable" pictures.
I'm so happy with it. In fact, I might not give it to her because I like it so much. It only took a couple hours to make, so I see another one in my future!
Materials: Pages: Hambly Studios Clearly Heave Overlays, screen & shimmer papers; Rub Ons: Hambly Studios; Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Ribbon: May Arts; Chipboard & Paints: Heidi Swapp; Rhinestones: My Minds Eye; Binder Ring: Office Supply
New
Get to Shoppers Drug Mart & develop those Halloween pictures! The Salem line from Scenic Route is here and soooo stinkin' cute. Of course there are the signature chipboard (in black & orange), the die-cut arrows and great stickers, but it is the PAPER, the fabulous paper, that makes this line so great. Double-sided, not too "Halloweenie" & all matchy-matchy. Right now I am wishing I had my own little trick-or-treaters.
New Stuff!
The new products from Sweetwater are great. The mini clip albums (pictured above) make great a brag book (a good Christmas gift!) there are four different styles & matching In The Loop die-cuts! Check these out, they are packaged in CD cases (so smart!) and you get a bunch of great loopy die-cuts which would be great as frames or just on their own as embellishments.

This Just In...
The paints for the new Noteworthy Collection (coming soon!) from Making Memories came today. They are so beautiful. A while ago I kind of fell off the "foam stamp" wagon. To be honest, it was pure laziness. Foam stamps are a lot of work. But lately, I have been pulling out the paints again because of the handy disposable foam brush. ( If you don't have this, and find yourself avoiding these paints because of the mess, then you need to get it!). The glitter paints in this collection are cute. So cute. I love the red glitter. Perfect timing for Christmas!
I had to.......
.........and you might too!
I HAD to have this. HAD to. Because when I saw it, I instantly thought of a million things I could put in it. The new embellishment box from Making Memories is so awesome. So awesome. It is improved (Big Time!) with 32 compartments and they WILL NOT spill over into each other as they are each a single mould. I fully intend to decorate the box with all of those stickers I have been hoarding & a tonne of cute stamps. This thing is worth EVERY penny.

New ( I love that word!)
I have just received the Travel, Tropical & Funky Vintage Lines from making memories. These lines were put out in the Spring but I put off ordering them until now so that they would be around for our busy fall season.
The winners? I love the 6x9 albums. (Pictured above in red.) They are a perfect gift size, and would be fabulous for a mini vacation album. Plus, they match all of the new goodies. And, they are flocked, so they feel wonderful. They are available in 6 different styles for $14.99ea.

I also like these journaling tags from the Travel & Tropical (pictured above) lines. Smart! I never did scrapbook our trip to Hawaii a couple years ago, because I didn't like the selection of tropical papers available then. These toned down tags (papers, stickers, flowers, & more) will be perfect. Can't wait!
