Discover Friendships by Haley Ross
(double-click to enlarge)
I am loving to scrapbook little Hannah. I love it. Finally a chance to use some of this cute girly stuff. Stuff that I bought thinking I would do pages of myslelf and just never did. This page is a little flat for me, but I like the paper and wanted to be able to use it all (double-sided!).
Old Stock? All of it. Every little bit. Woo hoo!
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: ki Memories; Embellishments & Ribbon: ki Memories; Pen: EK Success Zig Writer; Pop Dots: 3L; Computer Font: Odd Ball by Creating Keepsakes; Cricut Font: All Mixed Up

My Baby...

... Has a scratch on his face. And it's making me feel so bad. I've been meaning to cut his nails all week. And this morning, I go to get him from his crib & he has a scratch on his nose. He was just smiling away. I feel so bad. I feel so so bad.

10 Randoms (a Day Late)

For those of you that don't follow Kim's Blog (we're kind of blogging buddies) we have a new assignment that started with Facebook.... The original assignment was to state 25 random facts about yourself. Well, we did it and it was pretty fun. It's amazing to see what weird things you might have in common with someone. So we're doing to start doing it weekly. 10 Random things, every Sunday.
Now I know that it's Monday, so already I am behind. But I am going to plead "Baby Insanity" as my defense. Yesterday was possibly one of the worst days of my life. Miles is teething. And that's all I feel like saying about it.
So here's the list. This week, I follow in Kim's blog-steps...
10 Things I could not Scrapbook Without
1. My Cricut. There. I said it. Now it's out of the way.
2. Different colored Zig Writers.
3. Good lighting. Hate hate hate scrapbooking in bad lighting.
4. My Creative Memories Circle Cutting system.
5. Brian. Who allows me (sometimes forces me) to make time for what I love.
6. C-thru clear centering ruler.
7. Basic Grey. Still my favourite after all this time.
8. Nibs. aka. engery.
9. Stapler. I use colored staples a lot.
10. Kim. Who keeps me motivated & inspired. Tara. Michelle & Arlee. Jesse. My staff. JoAnn (although she seems to be MIA lately....) and other scrapbookers that I can always count on for a good time.

Plan B by Haley Ross
When I first took these pictures, I was so sad because the babies were both being a little fussy. I just couldn't seem to get any good shots. But as I looked at the pictures again, I thought they were cute... they tell a little story. Maybe even a little baby flirting. (One cries, then the other.)Jeff Hilderman was my best friend growing up. Our mom's use to joke that we would be married. But as the layout tells, Jeff fell in love with Tasha, and I with Brian. So fate would have it that our mom's (Diane & Chere) would have a second chance at being related. Hannah & Miles were born just weeks apart. It's a little joke between us all that they will be married someday.... or is it? (No pressure kids, no pressure.)
Old Stuff? I've had those alphabet stickers for years. Buttons, crave cupcake ribbon & even the patterned paper is a couple months old... pretty impressive huh?
Materials: Patterned Paper: My Little Yellow Bicycle & My Minds Eye; Die-Cuts: My Minds Eye; Buttons: American Crafts & Autumn Leaves; Alphabet Stickers: making memories; Pen: EK Success Zig Writer; Ribbon: from Crave Cupcakes.

New from Karen Foster

Two new baby lines, one boy & one girl. Pretty sweet with 4 coordinating papers and matching stickers.
Also look for Hunting, Fishing and Outdoors lines.

At last, but definitely not least (in fact, my favourite) are the sparkle brads. Totally cute and perfect for snowy pages and Christmas layouts.... I got mine :)

You don't always reach the finish line...
I had in my mind that in 2008 I would post 100 layouts. 100 layouts I felt were worthy of posting. As you can see, I fell short of the goal. ( I blame the baby.) So I'm enlisting your help. If a week goes by and I dont' post.......... let me have it. Be agressive, be downright mean. I need to get my butt in gear.
By the end of 2009 I will have 150 layouts posted.
(Gulp.)

Party Pumpkin? by Haley Ross
Love, love, love the Halloween paper & die cuts from My Minds Eye. It comes all together in a package (with Die-cuts) for like, $7.99. I added some stuff, of course. And I have to admit I went a little overboard on this one.... it's a costly little sucker.
Old Stuff? Scalloped Ribbon, Transparency & Cardstock.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper & Die-Cuts: My Minds Eye; Stickers (foam & epoxy): making memories; Scalloped Ribbon: American Crafts; Staples & Sparkle alphabet stickers: making memories; Pen: EK Success Zig Vellum Writer; Other: Transparency.

The One's That Got Away...
I don't post every LO that I do. That would be too much. But there are a few from just before Christmas that I did, and I meant to post them....and well, life happened. So here they are...

Tropical Breakfast by Haley Ross
I had the die-cut ki memories paper for long. I just didn't know what to do with it. But isn't it pretty? I just love it. And the words were perfect. (In case you're wondering, my husband Brian rarely takes pictures of me. So I was giving him a hard time about it. So, in true man fashion, he takes four at once, and said "There. Are you happy now?" Oh, thrilled. Not really what I meant, but better than nothing. At least we'll know I was there....)
Old Stock? Absolutely all of it!
Materials: Patterned Paper: Pink Squirrel, K&Co.; Die Cut Paper: ki memories; Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Stickers & Tropical Leaves: making memories; Pen: Ek Success Zig Writer; Pop Dots: 3L.

Enjoy The Ride by Haley Ross

A page only about Brian is rare. I am happy to have done this one.
Old Stock? The Cardstock, Brads & Stickers. There isn't much else to this page.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey & Pink Paisley; Stickers: K&Co,; Brads: making memories; Pen: EK Success Zig Writer; Cricut Font: Base Camp

Cute as a Button by Haley Ross
God it's nice to have a baby to scrapbook. I just love him. And this blanket was my inspiration for the page. I seriously love it. And I seriously love this kid.
Old Stock? The Brads, Floss & Cardstock.
Materials: Cardstock: Worldwin; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Buttons: American Crafts; Button & Bronze Brads: making memories; Chipboard Alphabet Stickers: Basic Grey; Pen; EK Success Zig Writer; Other: Embroidery Floss

Jolly Jumper by Haley Ross

I was mad when I finished the LO because you can hardly see the word "Jolly" that I wrote in. It bugs me. Oh well, it's done. Not to mention there is a spelling mistake in my journaling. Some pages just end up that way....
Old Stock? The Chipboard. Errr.... that's it.
Materials: Patterned Paper & Die-Cut: Fancy Pants; Chipboard: Crate Paper; Pen: EK Success Zig Writer; Other: Thread & Pop Dots

See? I promised more layouts, and I am delivering.... I did this LO this morning. I'm trying to remember not just to scrapbook the happy moments. This was definitly NOT a happy moment. I've been dying to use these grommets from WeRMemory Keepers. And, I love them (shocker!)
Old Stock? Oops! Just the Patterned Paper & Cardstock.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Luze Designs & Scenic Route; Alphabet Stickers: Thickers from American Crafts; Grommets: WeR Memory Keepers; Pen: Le Pen; Cricut Circles on George Cartridge; Other: Thread

My Baby Love - By Haley Ross

Does anyone else feel nervous when they are scrapbooking pictures that they love? For some reason 7 months ago, Miles came, and I became a nervous scrapbooker. What's that about? But I refuse to do his baby-baby pictures, just in case the layouts suck.
In case any of you were wondering (I know Kim was) my 2008 Scrapbook Goal will continue into 2009. I am happy with my simple style. I think the only place I need to improve is diving into my stash and using up my old "stuff" (so I can justify buying new "stuff".) I'm by no means a frugal scrapbooker & I dont want to be. But I would like my husband to be able to feel good about the room full of stuff in our house (my scrapbook room!). You know, see some actual results.
Old Stock? Photo Corners, Grommet, Alphabet Stickers, Flower & Floss.
Materials: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics; Patterned Paper: Bo Bunny; Photo Corners: 3L; Shimmer Alphabet Stickers: making memories; Stitching: Karen Foster Scrappers Floss; Black Flower: Doodlebug Designs; Flower Grommet: making memories; Opposites Attract Cricut Font; Other: Thread.

Well,

I'm baaa-aack!
Today was the second day that I've spent in the store in the last month. I know that some of you noticed that I was not around a lot over the holidays. 3 reasons.
I wanted to make Miles' first Christmas the best possible. (It was)
I had a bitchin' flu. The kind that really lasts.
And finally, a dear friend, Pamela Hilderman passed away.
But I am back! And it feels good. It was nice to see some familiar faces in the store today, but best of all... I'm scrapbooking. I never really stopped, I've been going at it pretty steady, soI have lots to post. I guess I just fell off the "Blogging Wagon". But I am back! And promising (Promising!) lots of layouts to come.... lots of new products... and lots of pictures of my babe (deal with it!)

Yes, we're still doing classes....

And lot's of other fun stuff too....
